Dina Sorour![]() Senior, Pharmacy dsorour@lynx.neu.edu My main project was to measure the maximum metal binding capacity of Pilayella littoralis derived HA for eight metals in preparation for measuring complete metal binding isotherms for each metal as a function of pH and temperature. The eight metals are Ca, Co, Cu, Fe, Hg, Mg, Pb and V. The isotherm measurements will show whether or not these metals occupy the same binding sites in this plant-derived HA. The results will be compared with data for metal binding by peat- and soil-derived HAs and the results will be published. |
